FENC Leads the 100% Polyester Circular Revolution, Pioneering a New Era of Low-Carbon Materials and Sustainable Functional Textiles

From:Far Eastern New Century Corporation

In alignment with the global transition toward net-zero emissions and sustainability, Far Eastern New Century (FENC), the world’s only vertically integrated solution provider, will showcase its comprehensive material innovations through the Far Eastern Group R&D Center (hereinafter referred to as the R&D Center) at TITAS 2026. The showcase will spotlight three core innovation pillars: Low-Carbon Frontier Technology, Mono-Material Design, and High-Performance Functional Fibers.

Low-Carbon Frontier Technology

FENC presents the AirTek low-carbon polyurethane (PU) material, a groundbreaking innovation that transcends traditional material boundaries. Built upon a non-toxic, low-carbon non-isocyanate process technology, this material utilizes industrially captured carbon dioxide as a raw material. By optimizing feedstock selection and process design from the source, it effectively reduces the overall carbon footprint while maintaining exceptional mechanical strength and durability. It serves as a crucial low-carbon solution for diverse customer applications. This technology has been recognized with Germany's prestigious "Innovation Award ‘Best CO2 Utilisation 2025’" and the Gold Award in the Source Management Category at the Ministry of Environment’s "Outstanding Resource Circulation Enterprises 2025." Mono-Material Design

To thoroughly implement the circular economy, FENC is driving a mono-material and all-polyester revolution. By delivering 100% polyester closed-loop solutions from raw materials to post-processing, FENC demonstrates a major breakthrough in green material unification:

  • Recyclable All-Polyester Sustainable Materials: The polyester-based recycled synthetic leather represents a new generation of mono-material, easily recyclable eco-friendly material. Furthermore, the FENC® PCR polyester seam tape is made from recycled polyester to achieve high-value material upcycling. In addition, to overcome the recycling barriers of conventional blended functional fabrics, the R&D Center introduces the r-TPEE (Recycled Thermoplastic Polyester Elastomer) elastic filament, vertical nonwoven staple fiber, and chemical foam. These innovations not only deliver outstanding elasticity and resilience to effectively replace non-polyester elastic fibers and foams, but can also be chemically recycled alongside conventional polyester, laying the cornerstone for full textile circularity.
  • All-Polyester Injection Accessories: FENC introduces the injection molding polyester, showcasing engineering advantages such as rapid molding cycles and exceptional impact resistance, which replaces non-polyester buttons on clothes for easy recycling. This material has been validated by downstream injection manufacturers and has entered the commercialization phase, proving the immense potential of green design to achieve scalable business opportunities.
  • Whole-Shoe Recycling for a Closed-Loop Economy:
  1. The FENC recyclable polyester shoe incorporates recycled content across every component—from the shoe upper and foamed midsole to the seam tapes—which are all crafted from 100% polyester materials. The series of innovative materials effectively resolves the end-of-life recycling challenges of traditional footwear, demonstrating a groundbreaking advancement in mono-material closed-loop recycling for whole-shoe applications.
  2. FENC has further utilized its FENC® TOPGREEN® rTPEE technology to transform textile waste into soft and high-performance polyester elastomers. Through a partnership among FENC, Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI), Long John Tsung Right Industrial Co., Ltd., and Pro Arch International Development Enterprise Inc., the consortium seamlessly integrated the “One-Step Separation and Decolorization” process with mono-material polyester footwear design. This integration provides a highly commercially viable solution to the long-standing challenge of recycling composite materials in the global footwear industry, ultimately earning the prestigious 2026 R&D 100 Awards. High-Performance Functional Fibers

In the functional fibers sector, FENC showcases the invisible-sweat PET filament, which utilizes optical control technology to deliver anti-see-through and UV protection properties, alongside the quick-dry recycled PET filament made from low-carbon polyester filaments. For extreme environments, the FENC® novel p-aramid fiber Telix delivers exceptional mechanical properties, puncture resistance, abrasion resistance, and acid/alkali resistance. It provides robust support for demanding industrial and defense applications, including protective fabrics, safety footwear, and durable backpacks. (Photo Above: FENC Website)
