Innovative Low-carbon Energy Transition Model at Zero Cost Through Rooftop Solar Leasing

To support renewable energy and carbon reduction policies and protect the environment, FEAV collaborated with professional energy providers for the second phase of the solar power project, which involves a rooftop solar leasing model. FEAV provided approximately 17,000 square meters of its rooftop space, while the energy provider oversaw the installation and long-term maintenance of the solar panels, which lowered the project costs.
The N-type bifacial solar panels were selected for this project. Capable of absorbing solar energy from both sides, this new model boosts power generation efficiency by approximately 3% compared with the older models. Completed and in full commission in October 2025, the project operates on a collaborative framework, through which FEAV gains discounted electricity rates by providing space. Of the electricity generated by the solar system, 97% is allocated for self-consumption at FEAV. The plant is also able to purchase electricity from the energy provider at roughly 20% below standard grid rates. The project is expected to reduce annual operational expenditures by approximately NT$2.4 million. Aside from these benefits, the utilization of 3,880 MWh of renewable electricity also reduces approximately 2,624 tCO2e of carbon emissions.
